Her Excellency Mrs. Mariam CHABI TALATA ZIME YERIMA, Vice-President of Benin and Grand Chancellor of the National Order, conducted a prospecting visit to GDIZ. Together with Mr. Falilou AKADIRI, Vice-Grand Chancellor of the National Order of Benin, and a team from the Grand Chancellery, the Vice-President was given a detailed presentation of GDIZ project as well as the model of the Zone.
During this presentation session led by Mr. Létondji BEHETON, Managing Director of the Investment and Promotion of Industry Company (SIPI-BENIN S.A.), and Mr. Laurent GANGBES, Managing Director of the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (APIEx), the Vice-President praised the considerable efforts made by the Zone's authorities, particularly in the social aspect since the project was lunched.
The Vice-President had the opportunity to discover several operational and under-installation industries within GDIZ.
She visited the Textile Training and Production Centers where young Beninese are engaged in producing 'Made in Benin' garments. At BTex, an integrated textile unit, the Vice-President admired the '’Made in Benin’' yarns and towels made from Beninese cotton.
She also visited Afrikan Ceramics Solutions (ACS), specialising in tile manufacturing, and Benin Cashew S.A., specialising in cashew nut processing.
