Facilitating the Construction and Operation of Africa's Integrated Industrial Parks
On September 11th, Mr. Nikhil Gandhi, Executive Director & Chief Business Officer of ARISE IIP, led a delegation to visit the CHINA-AFRICA ECONOMIC AND TRADE PROMOTION COUNCIL in Hunan Provincial (hereinafter referred to as "CAETP"). The two parties engaged in profound discussions on topics such as facilitating the construction and operation of Africa's integrated industrial parks, as well as exploring future collaboration models.
The CAETP commenced the meeting by presenting an overview of the China-Africa Trade Expo, the progress of the China-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Pioneer Zone, and introduced the CAETP fundamental operations, key initiatives, and future development plans.
Mr. Xu Xiangping, former Counselor of the Hunan Provincial People’s Government and President of the Association emphasized that Hunan has ascended to a strategic high ground in China-Africa economic and trade cooperation. He outlined four specific action plans for future collaboration between the two parties, encompassing the formulation of a memorandum, refinement of implementation schemes for industrial park construction in Africa, the establishment of a "four-in-one" office, and the initiation of investment promotion activities in Nigeria's industrial parks, accompanied by targeted roadshow events.
Mr. Nikhil Gandhi shared insights into ARISE IIP’s business layout in Africa, highlighting three core areas: port logistics, integrated industrial parks, and infrastructure construction. To date, ARISE IIP has invested over USD 2 billion in Africa, with more than 500 enterprises established across various parks, spanning 47 industries.
Both parties concurred that by establishing a comprehensive cooperation mechanism, collaborating on industrial park investment promotion, and jointly conducting research on sustainable development in China-Africa cooperation, they can effectively deepen the scope and quality of economic and trade ties between the two regions.
