We are here in the second SEZ of Kinshasa, the SEZ of KIN MALEBO, situated approximately 40km from the center of Kinshasa. Kin-Malebo will specialize in the processing of Congolese wood, pharmaceuticals, packaging, and others. Samaila Zubairu, the Managing Director of the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), expressed enthusiasm about this transformative project for the DRC. He emphasized that it aligns with AFC’s strategic commitment to constructing infrastructure that precisely caters to a country’s needs. The development of the Kin-Malebo industrial zone further underscores AFC’s dedication to supporting African nations in enhancing their industrial capabilities.

We saw that there was an opportunity, a gap in the market, and we decided to try to begin a new manufacturing facility out of West Africa, and we thought Benin was the right place to start.

We were looking at where to go next and we settled with West Africa and Togo. We needed control of our supply chain and that’s why we decided to choose Togo because of its deep water port and because of its recognition as well as one of the better ports in West Africa.

There is real support provided from the very beginning. There is a highly simplified administrative process, and alongside that, all the necessary infrastructure that allows investors to save time and reduce their installation and operating costs.

We have adopted a law to promote Special Economic Zones and the first Industrial Zone in Glo-Djigbé is fully operational and already welcoming investors.
